This is something ironic, but the latest buzz for internet money making idea find its way into mobile phone advertising. It is ironic because the founder, who is just 18 by the way, claim that there is no need for owning phone, connected to internet and the usual techno-dumb.
Interestingly, many Internet marketing Gurus are scrambling on their feet, pushing their bonuses through, to win customers. And until today, I am still waiting for a text message on my phone for the promo to arrive.
But looks like it never will. Why?
The promos are only available through e-mail. Lucky for me, I check my e-mail every now and then.
Are mobile advertising as big as they claim?
Well, for a start, it is a fact that people own hand phones more than they own computers. One person could possibly have 2 or 3 mobile phones.
And there are more people owning mobile phone too. Look to the person next to you. Ask them how many computers they own, and how many have it connected to the internet?
You see, people find it hard to register with ISP: Internet Service Provider, but if the services already built-in, like into their mobiles, they just used it without blinking, so it looks like this idea is off to a good start.
But lets be honest, how many of us use phone to surf the Net?
Judging from that angle, I am not surprise why a respectable Copywriter, whom I closely follow for advice, recently launched a printed newsletter to his subscribers.
Yes, you read that right; printed newsletter. And his reason: people open the mail they receive, people still read printed copy a lot, and the reach with such method is wider.
Internet connection might not have reached certain part of the country, or probably it has bad connection, but postal service can reach the farthest land imaginable. And how tech-savvy you need to be to open a mail?
Let's just see how noisy the mobile buzz gets.
